In my opinion I feel that getting the project started was the most difficult part of the whole process. I think this because at the time it is not fully clear what the client wants and what you are going to be creating for them. Because of this it was difficult producing a brief project specification to present to the client to see whether they was happy or not with the project and what was going to happen.
I then had an interview with the client and I asked certain questions that would help with the project. I was then able to produce a full project specification and project plan to get the project properly started. The interview helped me have a full understanding of what actions should be taken within the project process and what the end product needs to be.
Throughout the project I didn’t come across any serious issues. The design ran smoothly the web pages and site layout was completed with ease after I knew what the client wanted. Because I knew what the client wanted I also knew what I needed to test so the test plan also went well.
I used a Gantt chart which aided me in monitoring the process of the project. The Gantt chart helped me to meet deadlines by helping me know what had to be done when and what tasks had to be completed before the rest of the project could carry on.
During the build phase the gathering of everything that needs to be on the site was completed easily. I fell behind during the build phase and the whole project fell behind. The reason I fell behind is because I went on a surprise holiday for my mother’s 40th birthday over half term. From here on I had to work hard to get the project back on target.
During the Testing and Documentation I had to finish tasks much quicker than what the intended duration was originally. I managed to get the project back on track and just completed the Testing and Documentation section by the required date. The project was then completed.
You have learnt a great deal about time management and managed to get back on track after you fell behind at half term. You have reviewed the project as a whole and successfully completed the project. Well done.
